Grey skies and a touch of rain on the Island again over the weekend, but Luciano warmed up the spirits in true Vagabundos style yesterday at Space Ibiza!
The Cadenza man and Cesar Merveille delivered a stunning All Night Long B2B set chock full of big room tracks and loud beats: Luciano’s trademark mix of a capellas, grooves and melodies was met with great cheers by his fans in the Terrace, closing the performance with his terrific rendition of Rebelski’s “The Rift Valley”. Merveille’s stylish choice of tunes from his Roche Madame label was another highlight of the set, delivering a nonstop selection of what he calls “food for the mind”. Impeccable performance by these two guys together.
Sophisticated was the key of the night for the Vagabundos main guest: the talented pianist turned Techno virtuoso Francesco Tristano graced the crowd with a superb Live Set of ethereal sounds, playing a good number of his most acclaimed tracks he has released on the likes of Planet E, Innervisions, CLR and Visionquest. Nice to see the description he gives of himself on his Facebook page is “piano in space”.
Dandy Jack’s association with Vagabundos dates back to the very early days of Cadenza and Luciano’s career: embodying the sound of Latin America’s House and Techno, he brought these influences over to Europe through the Berlin scene, sowing the seeds of what became almost a genre in itself. Having him on stage in the Sunset Room last night was a truly unique experience.
German House DJ diva Julietta opened up the Sunset Room from 10 to Midnight with her usual flare and fine selection of Deep House records. Those long sessions behind the decks at Club der Visionäere in Berlin have definitely proved her right and helped her shape her taste in hooking the listener till the last minute.
Buy your tickets for Sundays at Space with Luciano and do not miss the penultimate party of the season with Luciano, Mirko Loko (live), Chica Paula and many more next Sunday 20th September.
