The real revolution of music

Yet again the weather was up to the same tricks as last week and luckily for us the rain held off for the majority of the night. No rain or thunderstorm was going to interrupt our party.

Out of our 12 week residency at Space Ibiza this one week Carl is always away from the night but this didn’t mean the party was going to be less impressive. The stellar line up again meant the Carl Cox wheels were still turning and the army of fans would still come through the Space doors.

Starting off the night in serious fashion on the sunset terrace once again was Ibiza Sonica’s Igor Marijuan followed closely by the never failing Reboot and finally Mr Doris and co. Reboot rocked the terrace from start to finish and from this moment on we knew we had another great night on our hands.

Over in the main room, long time friend of both Carl and the club, Yousef was to kick off the main room in only how he knows best. Yousef’s trademark beats rattled the Funktion One sound system for his full 2 hour set proving not only can he open a room but also close a room. Next up in the main room was the legendary Carl Craig, relentless and faultless to the end. The Detroit ace delivered a master class for the whole 2 hours laying down some of the finest techno we have heard in that room for awhile, Carl was the perfect preparation for our closing dj.

The man chosen to close the room and step into Carl Cox’s shoes for one night only was the man they call Adam Bayer. The Drumcode Records boss and techno don didn’t disappoint, track after track until the lights came up this was a worthy replacement. You only have to see some of the videos and photos to actually see what went down this week.

Now onto the covered terrace, and like the main room this was another superb line up. Reboot was up again to play, churning out the goodness to another clued up crowd. This was a perfect opening set that then saw Mr John Digweed grace the turntables. John is a firm favourite within the Coxy crew with John’s career built on substance and his sets never fall out of favour. This was another one of those sets! This then lead us onto New York’s Victor Calderone to close the terrace. From the off set Victors pounding house and techno was a favourite amongst the terrace crowd.

Up on the Premier Etage stage, Awaken Ibiza were doing there thing until the hours and rounding up the proceedings in the El Salon were the awesome Nightmares On Wax. Jam after jam from Negghead aka Dan Ward, Alex Wolfenden and Mr Nightmares On Wax himself. This was a perfect ending to another perfect night of house and techno and everything in-between.

Next week we see Carl Cox back in action plus Nina Kraviz, Carlo Lio and Marco Carola to name but a few… its going to be yet another good week at the Carl Cox camp. Oh Yes Oh Yes!
