Zouk, one of the oldest and most popular clubs in Singapore, is an essential part of club culture, not only according to its many visitors, but also thanks to the numerous awards and accolades it has received during its history. For example, it was voted 9th Best Club in the DJ Mag's Top Clubs Poll of 2011. As one of the best clubs in the world, it naturally made sense for them to want to bring an exclusive party to club voted best club in the world, Space Ibiza, with a tasty line-up prepared for 28th June: Xpress-2, DJB, Luke Solomon, Danny Marquez, Oscar Cano, Jose Maria Ramon, Sam Walker and Ed Moore.
X-Press 2 are the London collective composed of Ashley Beedle, Diesel (Darren Beale) and Rocky (Darren Rock). In 1993 they launched their successful debut single 'Muzik Xpress' and have continued since then to achieve numerous No.1 records across dance charts in the United Kingdom and United States. Their live performances are unique and have to be seen to be fully understood (and believed), with all members of the trio playing often simultaneously, there can be up to 12 decks on the go at any one time!
DJB, one of the oldest residents of Zouk Singapore, makes his Space Ibiza debut. A multi-talented artist and a prolific producer, moreover, he is well known for playing big rooms and transmitting his tribal sound to large, baying audiences. It's unsurprising therefore, that DJB has been recognised as the best house DJ in Asia.
Luke Solomon is one of Britain's most respected DJs and has always maintained an inclination to Chicago house. He began his career at the start of the 90s in London, where he began making waves and big tunes on the house scene, before founding the seminal label Classic Records (with Derrick Carter) and then later the Music for Freaks imprint. These labels are renowned as bastions to true house music and this is something that is conveyed in Luke's DJ sets, which focus firmly on the energising the dance floor with the principles of the classic house sound.
A great night of house music guaranteed, don't miss Zouk at Space Ibiza.
