Back for another special Ovum night at Space Ibiza, long-standing DJ and producer Josh Wink will be heading up the Terrace with an extremely vivacious crew.
Steve Bug, Davide Squillace, Remo and Oscar Cano will be mashing-up the dancefloor with the Ovum Recordings boss from 10pm on October 2nd, and if that isn’t enough to get you moving, maybe the b2b with Josh and Davide might just whet your appetite.
Ovum Recordings is one of the most integral labels in electronic music today, integrating new sounds but also continuing to pay homage to the culture from the past that ultimately shapes the future. This is thanks to Josh Wink - one of the true pioneers of techno, house and allied styles who isn’t afraid to blur the definitions. A brief scan of Wink’s mammoth résumé reveals he was an underage mobile DJ in the early 80s; had a major role in fostering his native Philadelphia’s burgeoning warehouse scene during the house-music explosion later that decade, and grabbed the attention of the electronic world with smash ’90s club hits like “Don’t Laugh”, “Higher State of Consciousness” and “I’m Ready”. Now as the driving force behind Ovum Recordings, his label is home to a long list of artists who need no introduction, including mastermind of ‘This and That Lab’ Davide Squillace.
Thinking outside the box is nothing new for Davide. With the ethos for his This and That Lab project ‘drawing music: playing art’, it’s a personal mission to create a platform of creative artists and promote collaboration between electronic music and other art forms. This in turn takes music outside of a strict categorization and generates, simply, an epidemic of stimulation. What this creative freedom means for a b2b between with him Josh you’ll have to witness for yourself because honestly, when these guys get together, anything could happen.
Pokerflat label-boss and Ovum friend, Steve Bug will also be special guest, and adding support from Remo and Oscar Cano, you’ve got yourself a heavyweight, one-off party that will be a hub for lovers of both music and creativity in all its forms.
