Ibiza Island resident Jon Howell has just seen another fabulous summer come to an end, and what a way to finish it, playing in the Discoteca for "We Love..." at 'Space' world famous closing party.

Now in his 2nd year as being one of "We Love's..." respected residents, and having the privilege of playing his blend of house music for Ibiza's best and most diverse party, Life could not be better. Never been one for the hype, Jon feels happy to be surrounded by some amazing D.J.s and producers, people that fuel his passion on a daily basis.

U.K. born, he has been into Music most his life, spending his time going to see various bands during the 80s and 90s. Then at some dubious english festivals, he started to get a taste of Techno. With the love affair started he continued to head to a variety of Party's in and around London, sampling the different styles this music had to offer. Feeling the need for change Jon relocated to Ibiza, and soon after the idea of Playing out the music he loved became a reality for him.

Once settled in Ibiza, Jon started djing in 'Pussycat' before moving on to become a resident at 'El Dune' (San Antonio) in 2002. Since then he has played at top venues across the island… 'Lola's' (Ibiza town), 'La Alternativa', 'Plastik', 'Base Bar', 'Guarana', 'Itaca', 'Sunsea Bar', 'Eden Rooms', 'Café Paradis', 'Kanya', 'Aura', 'Lo Cura', poolside and night-time parties at the infamous 'Hotel Es Vive' not to mention private villa parties across the island…always rocking the place with skilfully crafted underground sets that weave from techy disco or bouncy US house to melodic deep and tech-house. His reputation has led to invites to play at island super clubs 'Es Paradis', 'Eden' and 'Privilege'. a highly coveted residency in 'Grial' (2005). plus in 2006 a weekly residency at the famous 'Bar M' in San Antonio had started. And now of course Jon holds a residency for we love… at Space, surely one of the best parties in the world.

He had continued the residency at Manumission's 'Bar M' for 4 years and has been lucky to play at the pumping pre-parties alongside heavyweights like Fat Boy Slim, Junior Sanchez, Rocky from X-press-2, Zane Lowe, Terry Farley, Justin Robertson, Jo Mills, 2 Many D.J.s, Paul Oakenfold, Groove Armada, Eddie Haliwell, Funk D'Void, Simian Mobile Disco and Pete Tong to name a few and was also chosen to DJ after the famous 'Ibiza Rocks' live concerts. undeniably this has honed his skills playing for a host of different pre party's for up to 6 hours at a time, always keeping upfront and varied with his music selection but can skillfully blend into different genres if the crowd demands.

Jon Howell has also been a regular guest DJ for Ibiza Radio on both Global and Sonica. giving him access to the island and the world wide web, a taste of his deep techy underground house grooves. His big breakthrough on the Ibiza airwaves started in the winter of 2005 when Jon was part of the b-side crew's nightly 'b-side sessions' on Flaix FM Ibiza 105.0. It became a regular prime time slot for him playing 2 hour house sets every week, mixing up different styles from drum and bass to hip hop and funk. Jon's mixes were featured for the "We Love..." radio shows though out the summer 09 and also for both proton and burlington project radio shows.

The last couple of years have been massive for this much-loved island personality once known as Jon Rasta. He has already had been to London to play at an exclusive underground tech-house party - 'Fuse', travelled to play at Valencia's 'Space', and the 'DJ Mag' top-rated 'Mezzanine Beach Club' in Mexico bringing down the house - for the third winter season in a row - with romping 7 hour NYE club sets and daytime beach vibes, also playing a host of underground partys including Eden's forward thinking party 'Electric Sex', Jo Mills and Charlie Chester's 'Looking Glass' section of Pete Tongs 'Wonderland' party, and based in the benimussa hills, Ibiza's current underground success 'The Zoo Project'.

Jon is most known for his smooth building sets and following the direction of the crowd! especially if that crowd is heading to an after party ;)
