Rock legend Peter Hook appears exclusively at Space Ibiza this Friday at Beat & Raw.
Combining electronic with live, the superstar and former New Order bassist will be taking over the decks with a DJ set as the boundary breaking party keeps on showcasing only the finest musicians.
Former bassist Peter made his name as one of the key members of Joy Division then later New Order which made history with their single “Blue Monday” – the best-selling 12” single of all time, introducing the world to a completely original sound of new wave and electronic music.
As a highly influential force on the scene and always way ahead of the musical trends with an ability to tap into what was happening across the Atlantic Ocean before anyone else, in addition to creating a brand new sound, he and the other members had an integral part in changing the face of music through their ownership of The Haçienda. The legendary nightclub in Manchester that was at the forefront of the birth of house music led the wave of house and acid house when it exploded from Chicago, Detroit, as well as tapping into the Balearic sound from Ibiza led by Alfredo. Hence The Haçienda helped push forward the careers of Laurent Garnier, Sasha, 808 State and a long list of world-famous artists. Even Madonna played her first ever UK gig at the club during the mid 80s.
Expect a mix of classics and floorfillers from Peter’s repertoire of the choicest cuts of the 80s through to today. This man knows how to entertain an audience…
British indie rock band Klaxons will be back at Beat & Raw this Friday too performing a DJ set. These party rockers promise to deliver a night of pure raw energy while accompanied by another musical heavy-weight, Jaguar Skills.
The mysterious figure - he wears a ninja mask during every performance - has an inimitable style which he’ll once again be demonstrating at Space Ibiza with his residency at Beat & Raw. The superstar DJ and producer is mainly known for his one-of-a-kind dub-step, inspired in other musical styles like drum and bass and hip-hop.
Ramon Castells, Daisy Heartbreaker and Oscar Cano complete the line-up along with The Japanese Popstars and Rex The Dog, an illustrious DJ and producer who drives “sequencery, machiney sound” into his sets, creating a vintage electro sound mixed with current beats and some “big sudden synth melodies” according to him. It’ll inspire you as well as making you dance.
Don’t miss it.
