The well-known German duo has been touring around Europe presenting their latest album ‘DJ-Kicks’, containing “new dancier tracks” according to group-members Jens "Jence" Moelle and İsmail "Isi" Tüfekçi. The backbone of the mix contains choice tracks by Optimo, Alex Gopher, WhoMadeWho, Vitalic, The Rapture, and more.
Starting out eight years ago, Digitalism’s sound is not easy to pinpoint: it’s challengingly between electro rock and synth-pop, new wave and trance, techno and disco punk and pop glamour. This powerful combination has been delivering successful albums since it’s debut LP ‘Idealism’.
Also appearing this Friday and happy to be back in Ibiza is the young Jacob Plant. Writing on his Facebook page that he “can’t bloody wait for Space Ibiza”, Jacob promises that the night is going to be “messy”. The precocious artist started making music at only 13 and is now slowly but steadily becoming a major force on the dance scene at just 21 years of age. Already a respected and widely hyped producer he has worked with and remixed a whole host of household names, including Jay Z & Kanye West, Tinie Tempah, Modestep, Major Lazer, Benny Benassi, Skepta, Oh Land and Rita Ora to name just a few.
More than just massive musical bombs will be dropped too as Drop the Lime gets ready to go. Coming straight from New York City is Luca Venezia, an electronic producer and DJ who, very graphically, describes his sound as “dance music drunk on rock ‘n' roll.”
A regular this summer at Beat & Raw, the DJ with the masked identity Jaguar Skills will be delivering, as usual, his very unconventional version of dubstep mixed with an array of sounds and styles that turn every one of his nights into something that it’s impossible to repeat.
As every Friday at Beat & Raw, Malaputa’s resident Daisy Heartbreaker, Doctor Music protégée Allan Ramirez and Ramon Castells, with many summers behind him at Space Ibiza, will all be making the crowd jump.
