Café Olé opening shakes out its glamorous tail-feather Featured

Café Olé has swung back into Space Ibiza on Saturday nights in a hail of fantasy, bringing with it a huge army of followers who have become addicted to its infectious, shimmering vibe and lavish, breath-taking productions.

With the theme Motel Café Olé opening its doors to thousands of excited clubbers who looked desperate to ignite the fun that’s become synonymous with Café Olé since it began some years ago, Spanish screen icon Rossy de Palma welcomed the ‘guests’ as she appeared like a starry vision from above, on the upper level of the specially constructed set on stage in the Discoteca.

As she made her entrance, girls in beautiful, pearl-clad costumes swayed smoothly and effortlessly on rope swings that hung above the crowds, while the sculpted sexy bell boys of Motel Café Olé seductively writhed and moved their bodies with the pulse of the deep-disco meets vocal house rhythm.

This was down to the explosive sound of DJ and producer Albert Neve – one of the hottest stars of 2012 and confirmed resident of Café Olé - which ripped right through the centre of Space, with clubbers of all ages throwing themselves rapturously into the waves and putting their heads and hands up for more.

The most beautiful thing about Café Olé is the atmosphere – an invitation to open up to your desires, be whoever you want to be and flow with the absolute fun that everyone who comes to Space on Saturdays wants to experience.

The unique live element takes the pleasure levels even higher with a world-famous vocalist who collectively brings the crowd together in a unanimous climax. This integral part of the show, which is a weekly recurrence at Café Olé, was delivered at the opening by American angel Shawnee Taylor, the sweet lady with the powerful voice that’s led the vocals on so many of house legend Erick Morillo’s and Subliminal’s hits. Her live performance of ‘Colors’, ‘Stronger’ and ‘Live Your Life’ sent the dancefloor into a frenzy and with that, came a few special moments and much throwing of arms around one another.

Moving onto the Terrace, Rafha Madrid kept the energy pumping through the room before The Japanese Popstars took over and went down a deeper electro route, while on the Sunset Terrace, much-loved pop, disco and simple dance-floor classics were slammed out by Maroloco to the delight of many. Back on the Terrace, the House South BrothersPablo Kopanos and Manuel Moore - completely smashed it with explosion after explosion of huge balls of energy. This dynamic duo are going to be regulars at Café Olé and with the crowd absorbing every single volt of the full-power that was charging around the room, it was obvious that the Café Olé masses had just been waiting for feeding time at their favourite place to be.

Next week sees the return of Burlesque and teenage sensation Danny Avila’s new residency. Stepping up to the Terrace, his infectious vitality and fiery combination of tech and electro has earned him an army of fans and of course, the respect of his peers. Fresh, talented and ready for everything, he’s going to fit in well at the Saturday night polisexual fiesta where anything goes.

And it usually does..
