Prepare yourself for one of the biggest pioneers in electronic music.
Orbital, the masters of machine-made symphonies to move you emotionally will be lighting up the stage at Space Opening Fiesta 2012 with their stunningly unique bolts of sound.
In an electrifying and exclusive live set, Orbital – brothers Paul and Phil Hartnoll - are back with an unbelievable bang this year as they explode on to the scene not only with an appearance at Space Ibiza, but the release of the first new album in eight years.
Appropriately titled Wonky, this new album is as irresistible as it is richly melodic and veteran and new fans alike will be over the moon to hear deeply emotive electronic at its best – a collection of new tracks and reworked diamonds. Put this concept being played live on the Space stage, surrounded by thousands of music hungry fans desperate to hear their heroes play rapturous new tracks, and you’ve got yourself another huge reason to get yourself along to one of the best parties in the world.
The single track Wonky was Orbital’s biggest dancefloor success in 2011 and when Orbital kicked out this slightly bizarre and genius mix with a rap smash vocal that envelopes any listener into dancing with their hands up and head down, the reaction from the crowd determined their decision to make this the sure fire title for the album.
Orbital were formed in the late 80s in the brothers’ hometown of Sevenoaks, London, close to the circular M25 motorway which inspired their name. It was in 2004, after seven albums, numerous film soundtracks and original compositions under their belt and more than 15 years working together, that they decided to take a break and work on solo projects.
But demand for their legendary live sets became too great and they bounced back on to the circuit in 2009. Following the unbelievable response the comeback performances received, the brothers decided it was the right time to create another album.
Like any path to success, the making of this was definitely not a straight forward process as they veered off the path of their emotional music road map many times – but eventually they completed the journey.
Refreshed and ready to spin their heart-tugging harmonies, woozy vocal layers and twists on every beat to make them completely eclectic, Orbital say they can’t wait to unleash their live set in Ibiza at Space Opening Fiesta 2012. Don’t miss it.
