The Japanese Popstars, exclusive DJ set at Opening Fiesta 2012 Featured

The Japanese Popstars will be burning rubber with a set that might actually blow the sound barrier.
Definitely not the right guys to experiment with your car when you’re not looking, but absolutely the right people to shake Space Ibiza with a vigorous, infectious energy, once The Japanese Popstars are on stage doing their first ever DJ set at a Space Ibiza Opening Fiesta, you almost won’t believe the sparks that are set to fly.

Playing on the Terrace hosted by UMF Ibiza and amongst a line-up which includes 2manydjs, Juanjo Martin, Mark Knight, Roger Sanchez and Arty, the Popstars are preparing to inject Space Ibiza with a pioneering DJ set that will see them spring out a few surprises.

Northern Irish boys Gary Curran and Gareth Donoghue are no strangers to doing things differently, especially with their latest output – a collaboration with a Formula 1 team - resulting in a new track made entirely from the sounds of Renault’s RS27 engine.
This ambitious and innovative project is the first of a number of Formula 1 inspired releases which incorporates visuals from the cockpit of the car as it masters twists and turns at full speed, fusing perfectly with the power of the track and the electronic command of the concept.
Gary reveals that his best experience at Space Ibiza was watching Felix Da Housecat in 2010. “It’s one of the best clubs I’ve ever been in, if not THE best. We’re excited because we’re not playing live, which can be restrictive because we play all our own music - but for Space, we can tap into all the stuff we like.”
He adds that they’ll probably have to be torn away from the Terrace once they get going.
“I’m not sure what the set time is, an hour, hour and a half. I’ll play until the kick me off!” jokes Gary.
Space Ibiza Opening Fiesta is going to be one hell of a party with Carl Cox, Dubfire, Wally Lopez, Sasha, live performances from Paul Ritch and Uner plus Space Residents Remo, Camilo Franco, Paul Darey, Café Olé residents Danny Leblack and Rafha Madrid amongst many, many, many more. Don’t miss it.
