After a 2 year hiatus away from clubland, Luciano brings back Vagabundos to the Island, this time taking over Space Ibiza with a new lineup and new talents from his Cadenza label and Aether Artists agency. “Good things come to those who wait”, they say, and it’s nice to see that’s finally over!!

Same concept but new visual styles and new striking scene decors and colours, Vagabundos join forces with the multiple award winning club Space Ibiza and its unique sound system and room environment: the famed Terrace has now become the Vagabundos Room, the core of the party and its raving craziness, with the Main Room focused on more underground sounds, all in typical Cadenza fashion. The Sunset Room opened at 8PM, taking in the night festivities and leading on the dances  in high spirits.

And that’s where the fun began this summer: Gianni Callipari got on stage at 8PM, and kickstarted the Vagabundos 2015 adventure. The Nordstern Basel resident and Cadenza young gun delved deep right into it with what he can do best: sophisticated House Music and smooth grooves to slowly lose yourself to. Label mate Argentinian maestro Ernesto Ferreyra went on afterwards: the Chic Miniature guy shone through with his trademark Latin beats and dreamy melodies, with the crowd already feeling the vibes of the night.

Igor Marijuan and David Moreno kept up the atmosphere with some swinging rhythms and sunny flavours, welcoming Ibiza legendary DJ Alfredo to close off the Sunset Room: the Father of the Balearic Beat gave us another of his unmistakably classy sets, spanning 40 years of music, a testament to his career still going strong today.

In the Vagabundos Room (a.k.a. the Terrace), Franco Cinelli delivered a muscular and strong set, mixing some infectious and rootsy tracks with some minimalistic percussive tunes as seen on his All Frequencies LP for Esperanza. Next on, Innervisions’ own Âme served up their own mix of throbbing big room House and keyboard-infused mid tempo bangers to huge cheers from the crowd, adding an elegant touch to the shaking vibes.

The man of the night, Luciano himself, stepped on stage full on top form and nothing short of excited for this new Vagabundos adventure. And his music proved it right: Cadenza classics along with unreleased material that Luciano has secretly stored away in the vaults of his studio sent the crowd crazy, with literally everyone on the dance floor bouncing to the rhythms and beats coming out of the speakers. Highlights of his set included some of his recently released tracks (his “Grace Of An Art” single a favourite on his latest live appearances along with his remix of Popof for Hot Creations) plus a bunch of upcoming Cadenza numbers.

The Vagabundos dancers and their stunning choreographies made the night even more special: dressed up with clothes exclusively designed by Berlin based fashion lady Aurelia Paumelle, the girls stood out as a perfect combination to Luciano and the other DJs’ music, a sexy and kinky mix of sensual moves and beautiful smiles.

Ernesto Ferreyra enjoyed another gig in the same night as he opened the Main Room at 1AM: great to see how he seamlessly switched from his more relaxed selection in the Sunset Room to more energetic sounds later on. Decidedly not afraid of taking the stage in the Main Room also, he came up with some cutting edge tracks that set the tone of the night, notably some tracks from his “Some Kind Of Sign” Cadenza LP and his vibrant remix of Francesco Bergomi’s Ayxo. Slovenian Techno guru Valentino Kanzyani stepped in afterwards for close to two hours of old school vinyl sounds, ranging from Detroit classics to obscure limited edition singles. Space Ibiza residents Jose de Divina and Javi Bora’s established B2B closed off the night with a bang: their mix of peak time tunes and big basses didn’t disappoint as the people kept dancing till the early hours of this morning.

We couldn’t ask for more as Luciano and his Vagabundos gang kicked off their season at Space Ibiza with a superb party: with such an energy, the upcoming summer looks exciting. First one in, we have 16 more events now that’ll shake Ibiza’s Sundays as never before. Take it from us: Vagabundos are ON FIRE! Buy now your tickets for Vagabundos at Space Ibiza!
