On Sunday 28th September we celebrate one last Sunday of what has been a fantastic 2014 season. Our opening party back in June feels like a lifetime ago but it has only been 17 Sundays since we opened Space’s doors for the 16th season of We Love Sundays at Space. For the first time in 6 years we opened Space during the day as the Sunset Terrace became home to our Stripped concept. Unannounced DJs playing daytime sets on the open-air terrace to a music loving crowd. Stripped has given us some of our favourite memories over the Summer with secret sets from Shaun Reeves, Hector, Bushwacka, Rossko, Burnski, Bill Patrick, Carl Cox and many many more along with our trusted residents. For our closing party expect to see some of our previous guests along with a VERY special performance from none other than DJ EZ. For this very special show we have decided to break tradition and announce his appearance as we feel a legend like this should be shouted about from the roof tops. Stripped runs for one last time this season from 16:30 – 00:00 on the sunset terrace, one last chance for a daytime dance!
Having destroyed our opening party we welcome back the fantastic Rudimental to the cavernous main room. Rudimental brought an untouchable energy to their first set 17 weeks ago and we are sure they will do the same again this time around. Queen of the airwaves Annie Mac is back for her third We Love show of the summer having played at Space’s 25th birthday party in July and helped Disclosure round out their Wild Life residency last week. We Love Annie Mac! We Love resident extraordinaire and Born Electric head James Zabiela rounds out another sterling summer having proved many times this year why he sits among our favourite ever DJs. James will play the closing set in the Discoteca as has become somewhat of a tradition for our closing fiestas. As if the main room wasn’t stacked enough already we also have the ascendent Gorgon City in the mix. Surely set for superstardom Gorgon City are already proving their class at shows across the globe and with the release of their debut album pending, they are poised to take the world by storm. Long serving residents Jem Haynes andJason Bye are on warm up duties in the main room playing back to back from 23:30.
Over on the Terrace it’s a resident’s affair. New to the We Love family in 2014 Skream has fit right in and brings his Skreamizm brand to the Terrace for one last time. Opening the room residents Ben UFO and Midland play back to back for the second time this summer with Midland making his Terrace debut. On Saturday 27th Bicep take control of possibly the most prestigious 2 hours of radio around as they make their Essential Mix debut. From the apex of broadcasting to the most revered of stages in two days Bicep make their fourth and final Terrace appearance of the summer on Sunday 28th. Over our 16 year history the Terrace has seen many changes and thousands of DJs try to tame it’s dance floor, their are a handful of DJs in the world capable of doing so and even fewer who do it with ease and to a consistently mind blowing standard. Paul Woolford is one of the few and we welcome him back once more as we say goodbye to another fantastic season.
As always We Love Sundays at Space is much more than just the two main rooms as we take over the club in it’s entirety from start to finish. As Stripped closes and the sun sets Mr Doris takes over the Sunset Terrace with After Dark. The fantastic A Skillz joins Mr Doris once again and local lads Mo’ Funk and Kevin Kutts close us out along with a special performance from Dave Chambers who plays his 3rd consecutive We Love closing fiesta. In El Salon the Lo Cura Lounge crew are back in effect with David Phillips, Daisy Heartbreaker and Amp & Deck providing the soundtrack. Up on the Premier Etage residents Andy Carroll and Ian Blevins take control once again in the most balearic of settings.
