Some might say that August in Ibiza is what deciphers the men from the boys and true clubbers from the dreamers. Last Tuesday is testament to this fact. With August coming to a close, Carl Cox put on a breathtaking show to make sure it went out with a bang. From DJ LUCCA, ELIO RISO, DAVIDE SQUILLACE, GUTI and of course man of the moment and italian favourite JOSEPH CAPRIATI. This night was always going to be a big one.

The hype surrounding CAPRIATI’s first set for Carl Cox’s juggernaut Tuesday night at Space was phenomenal. After Carl had smashed the Amnesia terrace for Music On the Friday night before. People wanted more and more of the same. No holds barred stripped back techno at its finest.

As the clock struck midnight the queues began to build. The scene was set for what was to come and Space was pumping in all it’s glory. GUTI was up first on the Sunset, for a special jazz inspired session which laid the warm up perfectly for the madness that lay ahead. Over in the Discoteca LUCCA kicked off as she meant to go on. Full power at 125. There is no messing about with this girl.

Elio Riso soon followed in the terrace with an array of chunky beats which pummelled the FUNKTION 1’s. Guti came back around for another inspiring live set taking the room on a journey through the deepest corners of music. This set the stage for SQUILLACE who commands a room like no other. A funk filled, groove ridden few hours was on the cards and he most certainly delivered.

Joseph Capriati took the reigns from LUCCA and took like a duck to water on making his Space debut. This man has it all. Do not be fooled of his smiling happy persona. There is an animal behind him which unleashes a plethora of powerful driven techno. No nonsense upfront relentless pumpers track after track. The Discoteca was in overdrive but the time he handed the booth over to CARL COX himself.

At this hour of the early morning it never seems as thought the party can get any better. CARL COX had an agenda of his own on and once in control completely upended the room once again. Highlight track of the night has got to be Green Velvet and Jay Lumens - “It’s all about me” Original mix. Here’s to yet another magic Tuesday night on the island.

Buy your Carl Cox tickets and enjoy again the best night of Ibiza.
