Well, what can we say? We were expecting August 10th to be one of the best parties of the summer but the actual event surpassed even our greatest expectations. On the second week in August we welcomed Loco Dice to the We Love family as he came to celebrate his birthday and play the first of only 2 shows for him in Ibiza this year. For this incredibly special event Dice invited a host of his friends and contemporaries along to join the party.

Starting as always on the Sunset Terrace we got things underway at 16:30 with Sin Plomo kicking of the marathon 15 hour event. Next up Tobi Neumann soundtracked the end of the afternoon with Martin Buttrich playing live for the sunset set. At the stoke of 9pm our secret and very special guest took to the decks, none other than Carl Cox. It has been over 10 years since Carl played for We Love and this homecoming gig did not disappoint as he took the full to capacity Sunset Terrace through it’s paces before being joined by Loco Dice for an impromptu back to back set. Dice went on to close out the Sunset Terrace in formidable style as we were forced to open the rest of the club ahead of schedule due to a bursting at the seems Sunset Terrace.

First up Robert Dietz took over controls of the Discoteca followed by Josh Wink, Chris Liebing and Cirillo who played the closing set in there. On the Premier Etage Hip Hop was the order of the day with Chuck Flask, Nightmares on Wax and Crack T all delivering fantastic sets. In El Salon things took an acid twist with local favourites Paula Poletto and Franciso Allendes playing all night long and after midnight on the Sunset Terrace Pulshar and Vladimir Ivkovic brought an ambient set.

With the whole club full to capacity by 01:30 each room was going off but it is fair to say that the Terrace was the focal point. Opening ahead of schedule tINI had the room full within minutes and set the stage perfectly for Guti who’s hour long live show was the ideal precursor to Loco Dice’s second set of the evening.

The anticipation was palpable and the energy in the room was pointing towards Dice’s set being one for the history books. For an artist like Dice who has such a history with Ibiza and such a loyal following here it was a bold move to take a step back and only play 2 shows here this summer and this bold move certainly seemed to have payed off as what felt like the whole island squeezed their way into the Terrace to witness this homecoming set. Powerful, relentless, energetic and uncompromising; Dice took control of the Terrace for the next 5 hours well and truly proved his status as on of the premier DJs in the world.
