Sunday 27th officially marked the halfway point for We Love Sundays At Space 2014. So far this has been one of our best summers yet and the midpoint party lived up to the high expectations set by the previous 7.
James Zabiela brought his Born Electric brand back to the Discoteca hosting proceedings from the off. Resident Jason Bye delivered a fantastic warm up set and Hot Chip‘s Felix and Al played their only We Love show of the summer and reminded us why we love them so much. Next up Gorgon City made their We Love debut. Having released a string of highly successful singles over the last few months, Gorgon City are on a meteoric rise to superstardom and with their album set to drop at the end of the summer we can only imagine how big they are going to become. Their set did not disappoint and had a full to capacity Discoteca locked in for it’s entirety and featured a very special guest appearance from singer Yasmin. James Zabiela took the closing set and, as always, took the roof off. There is a lot to be said about personal choice for favourite DJs but as far as we are concerned though technical ability James is up there with the best in the world!
Over on the Terrace Sasha brought Last Night On Earth back for the second time on the Terrace this year. Joining him this week were Heidi and Magda, the former opening the room in supreme style and the latter closing the room down with a bang. Sasha’s headline set was a talking point of the night and one of the favourites among the We Love staff. Sasha has obviously played this room countless times before in his illustrious career but something seemed to happen this week which too his performance to the next level, a truly great set from a true legend of the scene.
Elsewhere around the club Ibiza Spotlight hosted their birthday party in El Salon with DJs Paul Reynolds, Heath Holme and Jamie Ings transforming the intimate room into a Disco extravaganza, the room was bouncing all night and jam-packed with smiling faces. Happy Birthday Ibiza Spotlight! Mr Doris invited Goodgroove, No Fakin DJs and Ste Hodge to join him for After Dark and on the Premier Etage Ian Blevins and Andy Caroll did the business once again.
