SPACE MOSCOW ENTERS IN MOSCOW THROUGH THE MAIN DOOR

December 14th 2013, a date the Russian capital will take long to forget and that may have marked a turning point in Moscow’s nightlife. A night in which, after much expectation, Space Moscow was inaugurated, the first Eastern European franchise of Platja d’en Bossa’s most famous club.

For this special occasion, the new generation club counted with a vertiginous line-up, headlined by Tiësto and supported by youngster Gelab and Space Ibiza’s resident Danny Marquez. A blend of artists that, complemented by a production comparable to the best festivals, guaranteed Space Moscow’s grand entrance into Moscow’s top nightlife.

And that’s the way it happened, as days before the event the tickets booths hung the “Sold Out” sign. It was no surprise to see a long queue of clubbers in front of the club from the early hours. No one wanted to miss any second of Space Moscow’s Grand Opening.

The night started at 10pm as planned, but the excessive and early affluence forced the organization to open the main room early, which was initially scheduled for midnight. The Russian resident Denis A was in charge of inaugurating the main stage, offering the crowd a perfect Tech House set to start the engines before the first guest of the night, Gelab.

The Menorcan youngster is still unknown to the main audience but everything seems to point out that it won’t be too long until he finds a place among the electronic music virtuosos. Gelab offered a blunt and direct set, alternating electronic classics with the best EDM tracks, which conquered Moscow’s crowd from the beginning to the end. The night couldn’t have started any better.

Once Gelab’s set ended, the turn came for the main course of the night: the almighty Tiësto. His irruption on stage unleashed madness among the 6.000 clubbers that acclaimed the artist as if he was the Messiah: Russia loves Tiësto and Tiësto loves Russia. This perfect symbiosis led to an absolute connection between the artist and the audience, which didn’t stop dancing any second. During his two hour set, the Dutch DJ spinned dancefloor burners such as his new track “Red Lights”or the classic “Lethal Industry”. At 4.30am, Tiësto was still scotched to the mixer and there was no way to take him off the booth. His set extended more than two hours, reaching a total of 4 hours in which he alternated a characteristic Progressive House sound with Trance classics such as his “Adagio for Strings” which moved more than one nostalgic clubber.  The connection between artist and audience was absolute and the vibe unbeatable. Unfortunately, the end of his set had to come at some point, and after deeply thanking the Russian crowd for its warm affection, it was the turn of Space ibiza’s resident Danny Marquez to crown a perfect night.

Danny Marquez took advantage of the short hour he had after Tiësto’s prolonged set to present his last release, “C’Mon”, and top off the last survivors of the musical tsunami that razed Moscow’s new generation club. His EDM sound was the perfect cherry to top a cake insatiably ravened by Moscow’s audience.

The club's facilities were one of the main highlights and left no one indifferent. Following Space Ibiza's franchise policy, the club counted on a Funktion One "Space Ibiza Sound System" exclusively designed for Moscow's nightclub, just as the rest of franchises and Ibiza's club. To highlight also the lighting system, provided by Martin, and which offered a lights setting that had nothing to envy to the best clubs around the world, and the bars and toilets finishings, especially designed and installed by Silestone by Cosentino, official provider of Space Ibiza and its franchises.

Space Moscow will open soon its doors again to live another festival-like night. Within the next days, more details of the club’s anticipated second party will be revealed, another night that will surely mark a milestone in Moscow’s nightlife.
