The Winchester born DJ duo deliver a fresh mix on the bassier side of house and garage, complete with an exclusive play of an unreleased bootleg remix of Rosie Gaines’ classic ‘Closer than Close’. Enter Codec.

Now London based, Codec have soaked up influences from Garage, Drum & Bass, Jungle and House and pushed them all together to form their dancefloor designed sound, by way of deep swinging bass notations coupled with reminiscent house breakdowns, all with a UK representing, modern manner. After creating serious vibes at i-D & Black Butter’s Christmas Mix night, the boys move into 2013 keeping energy at the forefront of their music.

Their most recent release on Black Butter’s Spread Love #3 EP topped the Juno Download chart with ‘What You Need’ at number one along with ‘Be Yourself’ in at number 5, and they’re set to follow these achievements in fine fashion. i-D goes in the mix with the bass driven double act as they prepare for their next release.
