FATBOY SLIM: THE ULTIMATE HEAVYWEIGHT Featured

When Fatboy Slim tells you to put your hands up in the air – do it.

If not, you’ll be the only clubber at Space Ibiza with your hands by your side. Guaranteed. When the chameleon of chart friendly, crowd pleasing global hits stomps his way into the DJ booth and pushes out a nuclear explosion of rebellious sound there’s only way to go –100% with him.

Playing to a packed Discoteca at Carl Cox’s The Revolution Recruits, the British pioneer of acid house and all things adventurous let rip with his signature, fun style of pure party house fused with big vocals, laced with cuts of electro punches and huge drops.

Fatboy (aka Norman Cook) is about to make history with the world’s biggest cinema dance party on 31 August, a simultaneous screening of his DJ set in movie theatres in almost every country that will unite the globe in music at the exact same time. Judging by the look on the thousands of thrilled faces that were under Fatboy’s spell in Space Ibiza last Tuesday as he whipped up a storm with an insatiable performace, just like this gig, the dance party project is also gonna be an absolute sell-out.

Playing a little earlier than usual, Carl Cox was at the head of the decks before his special guest Fatboy Slim. With a rolling beat that enveloped his beloved army who turn out to watch him and his friends play in his ‘house’ every Tuesday, Carl was on fine form as usual. Feeling the raw energy that Carl cooked up, you wouldn’t have known he’d just stepped off the plane after a long journey from Barbados …

On the Terrace, one of this year’s brightest stars Charlie Hedges completely smashed it and Pleasurekraft’s set was simply stunning. His enormous floor-burner “Carny” swept through dancefloors last summer like wildfire and his unique, edgy flavour was ravished by the packed club.

A special mention has to go to UNER and Clockwork who were immense, and Marcoloco - the master of disco and pop classics on the Sunset Terrace - who under the umbrella of Future Disco, keeps anyone who heads to this chill-out area on the dancefloor.

With an infectious energy and the ability to emanate sheer melodic indulgence, he is another integral piece in the collection of musical masters which makes The Revolution Recruits stay on top form each and every week.

We salute you!
