PreSpace Ibiza around the world Featured

Since the success of the Space Ibiza 2009 album mixed by MYNC, Cr2 have been invited back to put together ‘Space Ibiza around the world’, mixed by Elio Riso and Camilo Franco, two of the longest standing Space Ibiza residents.

Elio Riso whose house and tech house vibes spring from his Argentinian roots, has been in the music industry for 20 years, 10 of those playing for Space and We Love Sundays. Playing alongside the likes of Carl Cox, Moby, Eric Morillo and Pete Tong, there is no way to describe this man other than a veteran of house music. Camilo Franco has been playing good, respected house music for Space Ibiza since his first individual gig for the club, to his now regular night there. Coming from Spain himself he recognizes what the brand aims to portray, and similarly holds a large part in Space Ibiza´s newer venture as a touring company.

For twenty years Space Ibiza have been drawing crowds from across the globe to witness their seminal understanding of house music, within the walls of their unique venue. ‘Space Ibiza around the world’ incorporates those such sounds into a 3 disc CD. It comes as the first of what we hope to be a long running series between Cr2 and Space Ibiza, focusing primarily on Space Ibiza as a touring brand, which has grown ferociously over the past few years. Over the coming months Space Ibiza as an iconic company will be visiting Asia, Barcelona, Bilbao, Australia, Dubai, USA, the United Kingdom, Brazil and Canada. The vast expanse of territories which will host events on the Space Ibiza tour are enough to display how far the club has come in its twentieth year. The sounds from ‘Space Ibiza around the world’ work to excellently complement this idea, and follow on from the high quality of productions used on the Space Ibiza 2009 compilation.

CD 1, mixed by Camilo Franco incorporates some of the more underground tracks to come through the scene this summer. Kicking it off with the first track on the album ‘Jazzy stuff’, which has received huge club success. Two featured tracks are remixes from the rapidly growing Coyu, who has certainly made an impact over the past few months. Chuckie’s ‘Let the bass kick in Miami Bitch’ also makes an appearance after its huge success in Ibiza this year, as does ‘Mantra’ from Juan Kidd vs Prok & Fitch.
CD 2 mixed by Elio Riso samples the more techno sounds, which certainly achieved much accolade during 2009. Including tracks such as ‘La Tromba’ from Lake & Lys and ‘Flexwood’ from Alex Tepper & Steve Lawler, who is also a long standing Space Ibiza resident alongside Camilo and Elio. There is no doubt when hearing this album you’ll immediately be reminded of the sounds associated with Space Ibiza, whether in Ibiza, Europe, or indeed anywhere around the world.
