Uroš Umek is an internationally acclaimed DJ and music producer from Slovenia, author of more than 500 releases (2009 data) for world renown record labels such as Renaissance, Armada, Cocoon Records, Audiomatique, Hell Yeah, Tronic, Datapunk amidst many others. Pioneering the genre in his country and organizing the first raves, he became worldwide known as Fotr (Father of Slovenian Techno and Electronic Culture).

His popularity has became bigger and bigger and currently he is one of the major figures of techno; however, he loves nothing more than also playing house music also, specially at after-parties.

“I work seven days a week on music, and the reason I produce so much is that I love what I do”, Umek explains the reason behind his massive production, in the sets of people like Carl Cox, Svën Vath and Laurent Garnier, and catching the attention of Armada, Hell Yeah, Tronic, Dataworx and other biggest labels of the music industry.

As an author he signed more than 20 releases in the first half of 2009. Tracks like ‘You might hear nothing’ persisted on Beatport´s Top 10 chart for a few weeks, while DJ Umek is among the top ten most searched for artists in specialized electronic music internet site Beatport.

He has just launched a double CD compilation –Umek? Hell Yeah - This is his fourth commercially work, including 24 high-tempo tracks on the first disc, while the second ranging from classic electro sounds to funky upbeat techno.

Dubfire and Nic Fanculli are his musical partners lately with both of them being guests at the massive Carl Cox JOIN OUR REVOLUTION nights at Space Ibiza, Carl Cox´s 8th season at Space Ibiza..
