Over 13 years have passed since WOMB first established itself as a cross-culture beacon perched at Maruyama-Cho, Shibuya. Now, with international expansion in its sights with its WOMB WORLD WIDE concept, WOMB has been steadily increasing its musical network, sending its residents artists both across Japan as well as overseas to transmit a new wave of Tokyo culture. Over the course of its long history, music styles and sound systems have rapidly developed into the new trends, becoming this way a seamlessly forerunner, always two steps ahead.
The simplicity in its floor design allows WOMB to bring out maximum quality on the main floor with a unique and unparalleled visual and audio set-up; moving lights, full color lasers, full color flash units, and, of course, the famous sound system which arrived directly from NYC, all of which combined to create a dramatic surroundings that engulf the entire room. This attention to quality has certainly paid off: In 2005, UK music magazine MIX MAG announced that WOMB won the 2nd place in its "World's Top 10 Killer Clubs" ranking. Also, it took 5th place overall in DJ MAG's "Top 100 Clubs" in 2008, edging further up to 4th in 2009. WOMB is recognized and acclaimed by not only the world's top artists, but also the electronic music industry.
WOMB's unprecedented approach, which has sent shock-waves through the Tokyo music scene for over a decade, still blazes on with its original innovative spirit, and its ever-evolving nature continues to secure its place on the front lines of the scene.
This time the lineup will include live performances by Martin Buttrich, Robert Dietz, who has also held many amazing gigs at WOMB, and a guest appearance by the Argentinian Guti. Also, this time the chosen WOMB resident will be Tomoki Tamura, organizer of the cutting edge party "Holic" in London. Come and enjoy the experience of Tokyo's coolest party!
